STUDENT COUNCIL

We are enjoying our Fall Break, but what all are we working on?

-We formed a Safety Committee to promote safety throughout the school. This committee will do awareness about a variety of issues through a variety of ways.

-As a council, we are busy with our Winter Dance (12/5). Each member is in a committee to increase productivity. This is not your average dance.

-Each class council is also busy. The Seniors are planning a fashion show, the Juniors are planning a carnival, and the Sophomores are getting ready for Rock and Jock.

-In addition, Council is participating in community service. For example, we volunteered at Josh and Gus's Run for a Reason, a benefit run for Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome. Pictures can be found here.

SPORTS

Mad props to the boys soccer team on an absolutely convincing win last night against #1 Rangeview. The team played great, and we are all looking forward to the next game Saturday against Bear Creek (Saturday, at 11:00AM, at Pirate Stadium/Englewood High School, map).

Check out some stories about the game:

-Denver Post
-Rocky Mountain News
-Slideshow

In other news, the football team begins their playoffs at Highlands Ranch at 4PM on Friday, at Shae Stadium. Map. Lets show some Angel pride and support the team!

Good luck to the gymnastics team, who compete Friday at 230 at Thornton High School. Map.

A job well done to the Field Hockey team, who went deep into the state tournament. It was a good season capped with a near-upset of the number one seed. Also, the tennis team once again did excellent with a fifth place overall, led by Jake Malman getting third place at two singles, and Daniel Weiner/Nate Bartell receiving fourth place at four doubles. All the fall sports did great this year.

NEWS AND NOTES

ETC's production of Six Characters in Search of an Author was excellent. The performance was entertaining and highly provocative. A job well done.

Thank you BSA for organizing the David Oliver assembly. He makes East proud.

If you are interested in shadowing, please call NOW to schedule an appointment, because the positions are just about filled!

Good job to Genocide Action and Awareness Club, for organizing a great pie toss, and to Green Club, for helping to rake East on Tuesday afternoon.
And good luck to the No Place for Hate Club, which is speaking to the PTSA on Monday.
